| OK, I'm confused. In this post (#90) yousay you suport the following:
List Manager Requirements:
* Windows Mobile Based Smartphone, Pocket PC, or Pocket PC Phone
* Internet connectivity (e.g., GPRS, CDMA, Wi-Fi, desktop proxy via Activesync, etc)
In post (#6) you say:
The system requirements for running Unwired InfoShare List Manager are as follows:
Device: Windows Mobile Smartphone
OS: Windows Mobile 2003 or later
Other:
- In order to synchronize your data, you must have data services as part of your cellular plan
- If you plan to utilize the optional notification services of Unwired InfoShare List Manager, you must also have the ability to send/recieve SMS messages as part of your cellular plan.
I have a non-phone PocketPC with Wi-FI and laptop I'd like to run your software on but I can't get the two to sync. What's the trick?

| | Hi Larry, For non phone based, Wi-Fi enabled devices, we use the MAC address of your wireless network adapter as the unique identifier of your mobile device. To sync your Wi-Fi enabled Pocket PC with your desktop/laptop, simply associate your device ID (i.e., MAC address) with your user account in the desktop version of List Manager. To find out what List Manager is using for your device's unique identifier, goto the Register dialog (w/in List Manager) on your device and look at the Mobile Number field. Accessing the List Manager Register Dialog on your device: - Launch List Manager on your device
- Select the Options menu
- Select Program Options
- Select Register
- The Mobile Number: field is the ID you need to associate with your user account on the desktop.
I hope this helps.

| | As a quick side note... You must have your Wi-Fi enabled in order for List Manager to be able to detect your devices MAC address. When you first launch List Manager on your device, if you are presented with a message that says that "We were unable to detect the mobile number..." this is likely due to having Wi-Fi disabled (turned off). Enabling Wi-Fi will allow List Manager to detect the "unique device id."

| Thanks, I got it running. I have one more question...
Does List Manager sync by file or by record, in other words if I add or change an item to a list on both the handheld and the desktop prior to syncing will it resolve correctly?

| | List Manager syncs by record. If you add, delete or modify a list item on one handheld or desktop and add, modify or delete a list item on a different handheld or desktop, the synchronized list on both the handheld and desktop will correctly reflect both changes. In other words, for a given shared list, changes made on any handheld or desktop will be reflected on all desktops and handhelds once the list has been synchronized. The changes are merged.
