Hi,

For some reason my Smartphone will not sync with my desktop. When trying to do so I get an error saying that the mobile device is not known to any desktop computer.

I have checked the mobile number matches on the Registration screen and in the user settings on the desktop. When clicking 'OK' to leave that screen I get a message saying 'Unwired List Manager could not connect to the Internet to perform the requested operation. Please check your network connection and try again'. I get the same message when trying to check the desktop computer name in List Manager on the desktop.

Any advice would be appreciated!

On another note, things seem to have been very quiet recently. Is the next version of the software being worked on?

Cheers,

Jason.

This message will be displayed when you have not associated the mobile device with at least one user on at least one desktop. To do this, run the desktop software, create a user and associate your mobile device with that user. This will register an association between your mobile device and your desktop on Unwired's Server.

The message you are receiving is because neither your desktop nor mobile device are able to reach our web service. Please verify you can access the Internet on your devices and try again. The first issue that you mentioned would definitely be affected by your inability to contact our web service.

On another note, things seem to have been very quiet recently. Is the next version of the software being worked on?

Let's just say that things are quite busy around here!

I can access the internet on both devices but I still get the error on both the desktop and the phone.

I have checked already that it isn't a firewall issue.

Where is the list data stored on the PC? If I could back that up, I could then uninstall and reinstall the desktop software to see if that gets things going.

List data is stored in: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Unwired Software\InfoShare\Lists\db

I tried reinstalling and when clicking OK in the users screen and when selecting the computer name option I no longer got the network message.

I still got the error when syncing but I tried setting up a new user with the same name and mobile number and syncing then worked.

I can only assume that it was actually a Firewall issue. I have installed new Firewall/Anti-Virus software recently, and thought I had given List Manager permission in the firewall. When reinstalling the program the Firewall popped up and asked me itself whether I wanted to grant that permission, so maybe I set it up wrongly before.

Anyway, thanks for your help!

Jason.
