Please add the ability for completed items to be "archived" somewhere instead of deleted altogether. Please add a time/date stamp for when the item is checked off. This would be helpful so we could go back and see all of the items we have completed, without having those items in the normal folder view.

Scrolling popup for length descriptions/details?

Can we look into an option where if you pause over an item in a list, a popup window can appear that automatically scrolls through the field contents? Sort of like how there is the option to show/hide the popup window but...this thing is really annoying as there is no way to dismiss it without jumping to options and it obscures the list AND it fails at life because its only job is to display information and it trundicated length fields the same as the regular list.

Maybe I want to add an item to a task list but include a few short sentences of informatino for my boss to understand why the hell I'm adding this item to the list. How about creating a "comment" type of control that differs from the standard "text" control in that it supports multiple lines? Then, for 100 bonus points, have comment fields automatically scroll their contents when viewed as a column (50 more points for providing a scroll speed option). So Boss gets a new task item "Approve purchasing for security patrol" and next to it slowly scrolls "Bid from Joe Security of $300/mo covers nightly patrols of.....blah blah" ...or, moving the cursor over the comment field pops up a window with the multi-line contents of that field, with the ability to scroll up and down using the SmartPhone side scroll wheel and dismiss the window with the OK button.

OK, this is one of the best tasklistson the planet. And it's free and open source. So, start copying, OK? I would die a happy man if you could find a way to write a plugin that would integrate/syncronize Unwired List Manager with TaskFreak. I would be much happier having a stable 24-7 webserver function as the central repository rather than an arbitrary desktop.

Also, there are several nice features like the ability to delegate tasks to other users (move a task from your list to theirs) as well as a comprehensive history/comments/attachments/etc. Some things to consider for the future of Unwired List Manager.

Please add "Dialog Box" task list option

I would like to see if you can create a type of control where when an item is added to the list, it sends an immediate notification to a specific user with a limited Yes/No prompt.

For example, I create a list for "Point of Sale Discounts" with User1/2/3/Boss as user on that list. When I add an item, I choose Boss from list of users, type in my question and submit. Boss gets beep, looks at screen and sees "Customer wants 10% on purchase totalling $150, approve?" with "Yes" and "No" and "Call me" buttons. The Boss taps the button and I get the update on my end showing in the list the chosen status.

This is 90% of my day, getting approvals for various special cases and situations. Right now I play phone tag and email tag and never get timely responses. I purchased two SmartPhones and am considering purchasing Unwired specifically with the application that my Boss can be on a beach in Hawaii but it would be so easy for them to just tap Yes/No/Yes/Yes that I will finally be able to get things done instead of waiting for them to get around to writing an email or checking voicemail.

So how about it...can we turn List Manager into some kind of notification system so micromanager types who insist on being included in the decision-making process don't drag everything down with their lack of availability?

Would like an "alarm" or other reminder feature

It would be very useful to have an alarm feature where you could specify a date and time when a notification would be made. This is like the "due" date on an Outlook task. In fact, it would be nice if it could syncronize to Outlook tasks so that the reminder shows up in the "Today" page on both the desktop and the mobile.

Hi, all.

I'll start by saying that I'm not (yet) a List Manager customer. I may take the plunge and buy this product, though, regardless of it not having my suggestions. No list manager program for WM has met what I'd like to see in a program, though this one does look intriguing. Toward the end of creating the "perfect list manager" I thought that I'd still venture to share my suggestions. If you want to skip my narratives, please scroll down.

HISTORY

I come from the Palm camp. I moved into WM because of several factors. However, in the attempt to replace my Palm list manager (Thought Manager www.handshigh.com) I have not yet found a list manager for WM that meets my needs. Tried List Pro, but quickly realized that just would not cut it for me. Thought Manager on the Palm came closer than any other list manager I've ever used to working the way I need it to work.

SUGGESTIONS

All that said, here are my suggestions for improvements to List Manager:

Word wrap!!!
One thing I could not live without, that Thought Manager (TM) gave me was that it wrapped my text. In fact, I could enter as long of a list item as I wanted, and it would simply wrap to accommodate my full text. Now granted, very long list items can look ugly, so I'd try to keep them down, but that it could wrap suited me very well. I'd like to see List Manager wrap it's main "text" entry points, if possible, to accommodate longer list items.
Attach notes.
Another feature of TM that I liked was the ability to attach, on a per list item basis, a note. Say I had a volume of text or notes on one of my list items, but it would be out of the question to type all of it as the list item itself, I could simply make a free-form note to attach to the list item. I could also attach little doodle drawings, but that's not essential for me.
Nesting.
Think MS Word outlines here. You're typing, entering your list items, but you can tab (or hit a button) to indent/nest some list items. Furthermore, would love for indented items to be collapsable into their parent items. Still furthermore, check-marking a parent item would also check-mark it's indented child items.

Such features would accommodate, for example, a single list called "Saturday Chores" could break down as follows:

SATURDAY CHORES

INDOORS
Dust
Vacuum
Clean garage
OUTDOORS
Mow lawn
Turn on sprinklers
Apply fertilizer (there could be a note here describing the fertilizer, and the settings on the spreader)
Fix crack in sidewalk (another note detailing the concrete mix specifics)
SHOPPING
GROCERY LIST
Milk
Eggs
Sugar
Broccoli
Power Bars
HARDWARE
1/4" screws
Electrician's pliers
Tape measure (30+ feet)
OTHER
Sync my to-do list
Etc.

I think you can see where I'm going with this. Sorry for the novel, and perhaps I'm being unrealistic, but maybe you can implement some things like this, maybe not. So long as feedback/suggestions can't hurt... take them for what they're worth.

The reviews I've read about your product seem very nice, though, so I may just give this list product a try and see where it goes from there. I am very intrigued by the idea of synchronization you build into this product. Keep up the good work!!!

Hide/unhide toggle button

A quicker way to hide and unhide check items would be nice. A toggle button available from the main interface screen would work nicely (on both desktop and mobile).

Single biggest thing I would like to see is integration with Pocket Outlook... I have tried many different task / List / Outliner / database programs and none can do everything I want...

Infoshare list Manager is probably the closest as far as an easy interface, especially with the dictionaries, but what I would really like to see is 2 additional dictionaries that are automatically generated from the contacts list and task list. This would be perfect.

One other 'nice' thing would be to have the ability to total numbers in a currency column, or other basic calculations.

I have not bought the product, but I just found it a couple of days ago and it seems like it is very close. I would also like to know how often it's updated, so that I might have an idea as to when any further improvements might come about. If I buy it right now, I would probabluy also purchase AccessPanel from DeveloperOne so that I would have some of the functionality I'm looking for.

I look forward to hearing more on this product...

Any support for Palm Treo users? Please?

Server Sync???

The list manager is a cool app, but I see so much potential for the backend product on this one. Is there any plans on having a way to sync to an SQL or ODBC source?

Maybe I am missing something, but I would find it much easier if the editing was cleaner.

Its tricky to select a column for entering info - on the ppc I would rather see a small popup (make the column popup editable would be great), on the PC, this should just work better, again a popup to type in text would be great, often times you need more space than a little column width.

No Date Necessary

Hello,

I wanted to suggest that in your default Task List that you have the option of selecting 'No Date' or 'None' for a date. I understand that you can just create a task list using the 'Simple Task List' template, and that template does not have a date field in it...BUT I almost always use date fields in my task lists, but occasionally don't need a date for a particular task...

To have this option would be a little more helpful to me.

Thanks again for this very nice application.

1) on the desktop, a quick login option would be nice (without pin and splash screen)

2) I like to hide checked-off items, but this is messy with the 3-state option in lists. Can you either (a) include icon for "hide checked items" on toolbar or (b) change sequence in three-state lists from blank-checked-shaded to blank-shaded-checked?

3) less important - if you click on the root directory, could you show all items in all lists?

4) also less important - alternate date formatting (e.g., month and day only to save space)

5) more important, but probably impossible - would it be possible to integrate this into google modules? As google modules are increasing in number, seems like this will evolve from just a homepage to a pretty common desktop screen, and having a google module for your list manager could be really handy. note that there are several task managers modules out there already, but obviously none with your cool connectivity. - yo

Add "quick key" features for adding, editing, deleting, etc...

In addition to the "Toolbar", allow quick keys to be assigned. For example, to edit an item I need to click Toolbar, then click <right> to move to "edit", then click edit to actually start editing. I think it would be nice if I could assign all those clicks to one key stroke on the phone's number pad. A user configurable fast key list would be quite nice
