InfoShare List Manager Desktop require Windows XP (any version) and an additional operating system component called the 2.0 .NET Framework. You can download the 2.0 .NET Framework from the Microsoft Web site at http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework. In addition, the desktop programs require you to have an always-on Internet connection for synchronization.

Any Windows-based Smartphone running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition will work.
Every Smartphone running InfoShare software must have a separate license and registration key. Desktops do not currently require separate licenses, so you can run InfoShare software on as many desktops as you want without restrictions.
The software as downloaded is set up to provide a 10-day fully-functioning version of the software. After the trial period, the smartphone software will not run without a valid full-license registration key. In addition, our End User License agreement requires that you stop using the desktop software after the trial period.

For the desktop you must have an always-on Internet connection such as a cable modem or DSL. This is required so that when you try to synchronize information from the phone it can contact the appropriate desktops. The smartphone creates an Internet connection on-the-fly when synchronization begins or when registration information is updated.

In the simplest case, all you need to do is create a new "User" within the program with the name of the person you want to share your lists with and enter their smartphone telephone number. Then edit the list properties for the lists you want to share and make sure their name has a checkmark next to it. The help system contains examples of more complex cases, so please check there for more information.
Simply edit the list properties for the list you no longer want to share and remove the checkmarks next to the names of the people you no longer want to share with. If you don't want to share any lists with a particular user, you can delete that user and your lists will no longer be shared with them.

The most likely cause is that you have entered the phone number incorrectly on the desktop. Because there are so many different phone number formats and each cellular carrier uses a different format (sometimes even using different formats in different regions of a country), you need to be careful to use the phone number as represented on the phone. Choose Options | Program Options | Register Phone on the phone and read the phone number from the top of the screen. Ensure that you enter the phone number exactly as it appears on that screen.

For performance reasons, we have decided not to share dictionaries between the desktop and the phone. Generally, you will get better performance for data entry by using smaller dictionaries on the phone. However, the format of the dictionaries on the desktop and the phone are the same, so if you want to use your desktop dictionary on the phone (or vice versa), you can simply copy the dictionary files between them. On the phone, the dictionaries are in the \Storage\Program Files\Unwired\List Management\Dictionaries folder and on the desktop they are in the Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Unwired Software\InfoShare\List Management\Dictionaries folder. We would love to hear your feedback on this, so please send us an e-mail to feedback@unwiredsoftware.com with your comments.

Our experience is that users often want different layouts for their mobile devices than their desktops because the available screen space is so different. If we synchronized column order (and size) then all mobile users would lose their layouts anytime a desktop was updated.
In order to make sure information is completely updated on every desktop at the end of synchronization, synchronization needs to make two passes. The first one collects the data from all desktops, and the second one makes sure all desktops are updated with the latest information.

Yes. Select Options, List, Edit List Properties on the phone and then select Options, Desktops to Sync With. Then uncheck any desktops you don't want the list to go to. The list will no longer be synchronized with that desktop.
Assuming the notification setup is correct on the desktop and the mobile device has not disabled notifications to it, notifications are sent to all users associated with any list that is updated on a desktop because of synchronization or when a list has been updated on a desktop and the desktop user clicks the "Notify Mobile Devices" button in the Desktop List Manager.

Any list can be the basis of a list template. Simply select Save as Template from the List menu to save a list as a template. Then you can use that template to create any new lists in the future.

Send an e-mail to support@unwiredsoftware.com with the name of the desktop and the unique desktop id assigned when the desktop was first registered. To get to the id, you have to look in the Window's registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Unwired Software\UniqueDeviceId. Enter the registry from the Start menu by clicking 'Start', then 'Run', typing 'regedit' in the text field and hitting OK. From there you can drill down into the registry to find the id. Don't change any registry values as that can cause programs to misbehave.

Download the .cab file onto your desktop. With your phone connected to your computer via ActiveSync, click on 'Explore' from the ActiveSync menu. Drill down into the Temp folder. Copy the .cab file into the Temp folder. From the phone, use File Manager to find the file in the Temp folder. Select the file and the install will begin automatically. Answer 'OK' when prompted.
